Super Whatevr is excited to share their newest collaboration with Mark Hoppus of Blink-182. Their single ‘Carhartts & Converse’ is out now via Hopeless Records.

Co-written by both Skyler McKee and Hoppus, the track aims to encourage listeners to put their own self-worth and value above all else.

On the dream collaboration, vocalist Skyler McKee shares,

โ€œYโ€™all ever dream of creating art with someone you revere and respect? Yeah, I got to do that with Mark Hoppus. I wanted to make a song about courage and strength amidst people trying to put you down. A song about loving yourself for what youโ€™re worth rather than what others say about you. Mark was an amazing person to work with because heโ€™s so open to facilitating these conversations, and heโ€™s just a badass songwriter in general. Enjoy the tune in your clothes that make you feel the most confident and donโ€™t let anyone tell you that youโ€™re worth anything less.โ€

‘Carhartts & Converse’ follows up Super Whatevrโ€™s early 2020 release of their latest full-length album donโ€™t you wanna be glad? produced by Courtney Ballard (Good Charlotte, Waterparks).

The 12-song album follows the bandโ€™s 2017โ€™s Good Luck EP and 2018โ€™s Never Nothing in both time and theme.ย

Composed as a linear narrative tracing McKeeโ€™s path from unrest to inner peace, donโ€™t you wanna be glad? calls back lyrical elements from Super Whatevrโ€™s previous albums to create a cohesive and deeply personal record that the duo, McKee and drummer Chase Vernon have made.

Says McKee,

โ€œThis album is about the pursuit of joy. I had to spend time deconstructing what it is that makes me glad.โ€
