If you’re one for indie folk music and discovering new ~obscure~ย artists online, you may have come across the mouthful name ofย Benjamin Francis Leftwich before.
But the York-born singer-songwriter is far from obscure. His 2011 debut albumย Last Smoke Before the Snowstormย sold more than 100,000 copies andย garnered over 150 million Spotify plays. He’s amassed a big enough fanbase in China to go back for three separate headlining shows next month. After that, you’ll be glad to hear, he’ll be making his Southeast Asia debut in Singapore on Friday, June 23 atย BluJaz Cafe Hard Rock Cafe, Cuscaden.

Benjamin Francis Leftwich has been called a mix between Elliot Smith and Chris Martin. In a world where electronic production is increasingly drowning out the acoustic guitar in the arsenal of the singer-songwriter, Leftwich is unafraid to stick to the classics. Expansive though his music may be, itโs always rooted in those six strings and that hollow wooden body.
