MDLBEAST, one of the world’s biggest EDM festivals in Saudi Arabia, are back with an immersive virtual music festival titled Freqways – a 12-hour virtual experience that will start at 7pm (GMT+3) on June 20 and ends 7am the next day (June 21) which coincides with the global World Music Day.

The online event features a wealth of renowned international electronic music artists including Steve Aoki, Afrojack, Maceo Plex, Claptone, Danny Tenaglia, Deep Dish, Sasha, Butch, Art Department, Gui Boratto, Benny Benassi. All DJs will be performing from various cities around the world such as Berlin, Washington, Miami, Las Vegas, Amsterdam, New York, Dallas, etc.

They will be supported by regional acts such as Baloo, Cosmicat, Jade x Tala and Antabi Brothers, and will be performing from places within the Saudi region such as Diriyah, Abha, Al Baha, Al Balad in Jeddah and more.

Launched by Branded Ltd and the STB, the new season of the Music Matters Live from Home series will feature leading Singaporean artists – RRILEY, Sezairi, iNCH, Aisyah Aziz, Narelle and more – performing from their homes along with other artists from the region and beyond.

The first episode will have Simple Plan collaborating on their smash hit ‘Summer Paradise’ alongside artists from Singapore, Australia, Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia, as well as interacting with their fans online. The band will be donating their artist fee back to artists who are taking part in this collaboration.

The second season’s six episodes will be available to watch on-demand on the Music Matters Live ​Instagram and Facebook pages​.

BigCityBeats have announced that they will be hosting the World Club Dome Digital Weekend with a series of three events from Friday, June 5 – Sunday, June 7. The weekend festival includes the next iteration of the World Club Dome Drive-In edition on Saturday, June 6. The special Las Vegas edition is scheduled to take place at the enormous parking lot of the Maimarkthalle Mannheim nightclub.

The event is said to be the largest car drive-in festival in Germany, with the nightclub car park being able to provide spaces for up to 600 cars. The festival will contain a spectacular live show with pyrotechnics, lasers and CO2 cannons as well as incredible lineup of international DJs including Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Robin Schulz, Steve Aoki and Timmy Trumpet, and more.

A digital release party will be held prior to the drive-in concert on Friday, June 5. The party will be celebrating the release of BigCityBeats World Club Dome Vol. 32 which will be streamed live at 6pm on World Club Dome’s website as well as 8pm on YOU.FM.

A finale will be held a day after on Sunday, June 7 with the digital edition of WCD Pool Sessions from the Stadionbad in Frankfurt. A handpicked selection of DJs and exclusive sets will be delivering a perfect summer finish starting at 12pm, with the virtual Main Stage beginning at 6pm where fans can enjoy their electronic music with a fireworks display.

To help ease self-quarantine woes for fans during the COVID-19 crisis, Radiohead have uploaded past concert films on their YouTube channel as well as through their own Radiohead Public Library. The band plans to upload one concert per week on the video sharing website until the quarantine has been lifted or they run out of content.

The latest concert to be released by the alt rock band from their archives onto YouTube is their In Rainbows – From the Basement performance in April 2008. The live performance includes music from their seventh album In Rainbows as well as few songs from Hail to the Thief and Kid A.

Lollapallooza is ready to take music lovers back in time by releasing two live stream sets from their archives every week with ‘Lolla From The Vault’ and ‘Perry’s Power Hour’. The announcement was made by the Chicago-based music festival as the ongoing coronavirus outbreak continues to put many music festivals around the world on hold.

The next concert to live stream from ‘Perry’s Power Hour’ is San Holo’s concert set from Lollapalooza USA 2019. The throwback concert set will be available to stream from the Lollapalooza website as well as on YouTube.

David Guetta has announced that he will be hosting his second edition of the ‘United At Home’ livestream event in New York City on Saturday, May 30. Details of the venue are kept a secret until the day of the stream.

The livestream is set to begin at 7pm EDT (7pm New York/4pm Los Angeles/12am London/1am Paris/3am Dubai/8am Tokyo) across a variety of platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Twitch, and TikTok.

Donations made during the stream will go to the World Health Organization (WHO), Feeding America, the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, and the Fondation Hôpitaux de Paris-Hôpitaux de France (French Foundation Hospital).

Creative talents and organisers within Hong Kong’s local music scene have united together to launch their upcoming online streaming festival – the Tone Online Music Festival – on May 30.

The line-up features a wide selection of Hong Kong’s indie acts and talents including RubberBand, Serrini, Jan Curious & tombeats, Matt Force, Life Was All Silence, Rain In Time 及時雨, Stereo Is The Answer, Gigi & Sabrina, and BubbleVirus.

The event will begin at 4pm till late. Tickets are available to purchase here on a pay whatever you want basis from HKD$100 – HKD$1,000.

Kygo took to social media on Tuesday, May 26 to announce his online event, the Golden Hour Festival, will be streaming live this coming Friday, May 29. The livestream festival, which is in partnership with the LiveXLive streaming platform and the Palm Tree Crew, will coincide with the release of the tropical house DJ’s third album Golden Hour.

The event will raise funds for charitable organizations such as WooXBaby2Baby, Crew Nation, and the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

The latest concert to be released by the alt rock band from their archives onto YouTube is their Live at the Astoria performance on May 27, 1994. The concert is notable for including brand new songs being heard for the first time. These songs would then be included on their second album The Bends released ten months later after the concert.

Metallica launched their ongoing weekly ‘Metallica Mondays’ as a way to keep metal fans entertained during the quarantine restrictions of COVID-19. Every Monday, the band will release a past concert set from their archives onto YouTube. Fans are able to stream the concert at 5pm PT / 8pm ET.

This week’s concert set is their 2014 performance from Lima, Peru.

The Chainsmokers, the DJ duo best known for EDM mega-hits such as ‘Closer’ and ‘Something Just Like This’, will be hosting the three-day festival, and features a massive line-up of some of the biggest acts in the electronic dance music scene.

W&W have teamed up with Amsterdam-based promoter ALDA Events to bring a special show to the dance community in what is known as the world’s first extended reality (XR) livestream show on May 23.

Expect mind-blowing special effects and new music during the DJ pair’s special livestream set.

The show will take place inside the Li-Ning Arena virtual stadium which is named after Chinese sports brand, and one of the show’s partners, Li-Ning. The event is also a fundraising effort as both W&W and ALDA have partnered up with UNICEF to donate proceeds to communities affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

The XR event will be streamed live on Facebook and Twitch on Saturday, May 23 at 5pm CEST.

The Elements Music and Arts Festival in Lakewood, Pennsylvania was originally scheduled to occur this weekend (May 22-25), however, the event was postponed due to the ongoign coronavirus outbreak. As a result, the festival has teamed up with music website Dancing Astronaut to bring a livestream digital beach party titled ‘U Sexy Beach’ for viewers to tune in this weekend (May 22-23) instead.

The two-day livestream event features a huge lineup of bass-heavy electronic music artists featuring Claude VonStroke and Rusko as headliners. In addition to DJ sets, there will also be interactive and visual performances from artists MokiBaby, Joe Winograd and more.

All proceeds made from the event will go towards purchasing personal protective equipment for hospitals and health workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. All donors will earn the chance to win prizes including VIP tickets and backstage passes for the rescheduled festival dates of Elements Music & Arts Festival which is set to take place on September 25-28.

Billboard Live At-Home Concert – Shaggy

Tuesday’s ‘Billboard Live At-Home’ featured reggae artist Shaggy to raise funds for Direct Relief. The livestream had the Jamaican singer re-record three songs – ‘It Wasn’t Me’, ‘Banana’, and ‘Angel’ – as well as his most-streamed tracks from his 2000 album Hot Shot.

The re-recorded songs are for his upcoming 2020 album reissue which is scheduled for release on July 10. Four new songs will also be added to the album including ‘Primavera’ which features The Police frontman Sting.

For this week, Billboard will continue hosting their ‘Billboard Live At-Home’ series with new daily sets from artists. The series launched on March 19, and has helped charities such as Meals on Wheels America, Downtown Women’s Center, My Friend’s Place, and more.

For Monday, they invited American singer Tiffany to help raise money for The Global FoodBanking Network.

During the livestream, the singer, along with her guitarist and tour manager Mark Alberici, discuss touring plans for the future as well as reflecting on her previous tour for her 2018 album Pieces of Me. They also performed unreleased acoustic songs from their upcoming Pieces of Me: Unplugged album to help ease fans during quarantine. The acoustic album will be released on Friday, May 22 via Outright Rock Records.

Metallica: Live in Chicago, Illinois – August 12, 1983

This week, the metal band takes fans back to the very beginning with a performance in Chicago, Illinois on August 12, 1983. This concert set took place weeks after the release of the band’s very first LP Kill ‘Em All which captures the band in their most raw form.

The final day features notable DJs such as Duke Dumont, Tokimonsta, David Guetta, Afrojack, Seven Lions, Yellow Claw, 12th Planet, among others.

Budweiser Rewind: Black Eyed Peas – Live From L.A.

American brewery have announced a new livestream concert series titled ‘Budweiser Rewind’ which will premiere on YouTube. The first concert show will be a live performance by hip-hop group the Black-Eyed Peas at frontman will.i.am’s studio in Los Angeles.

The series will take advantage of the YouTube’s live chat feature where fans can interact with rthe artists directly and even suggest songs for them to perform during their set.

Thailand’s techno queen Nakadia performed a two-hour live set on the roof of Berlin’s Weekend Club. The livestream is a part of Italian artist management agency Beat of Life’s techno live stream series which will be gathering over 80+ techno social media pages to live stream the event.

BTS: BANG BANG CON The Live

K-pop boy band BTS have announced their upcoming pay-per-view concert BANG BANG CON The Live. The 90-minute online concert will premiere at 5am EST, and coincides with the group’s seventh anniversary of their debut. Expect to hear details for the following special concert after BANG BANG CON The Live in the coming weeks on the group’s Weverse platform.

Earlier this year, the popular K-pop group released their latest album Map of the Soul: 7 in February, and were scheduled to support the release with a world tour until they had to postpone due to the coronavirus outbreak.

DIMENSION²: Hardstyle Live Stream Experience

Belgian hardstyle record label Dirty Workz launched their audio-visual live stream experience, ‘DIMENSION²’, with a two-hour live set by two of the label’s DJs Psyko Punkz and Mandy. Both DJs performed in a virtual 3D world filled with real time lighting and special effects. The live stream began at 8pm CEST and ended at 10pm CEST.
