Before even dropping their first official single, rising J-pop girl group Bi-ray 美麗 has already made history — performing the U.S. national anthem in front of tens of thousands at Dodger Stadium.

The performance took place on 28 April, during Japanese Heritage Night, when the Los Angeles Dodgers faced off against the Miami Marlins. The night was already big — with Dodgers superstars Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Roki Sasaki shining on the field — but when Bi-ray stepped up to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner,” the spotlight shifted to four newcomers who made sure their voices were heard loud and clear.

The group — Emi, Hinata, Cocomi, and Michelle — performed a special arrangement crafted by none other than their legendary producer, YOSHIKI. Known for his work with X JAPAN and as a global rock icon, YOSHIKI personally tailored the version of the anthem to match each member’s vocal strengths. The result? A powerful, goosebump-worthy harmony that brought the crowd to its feet.

“Singing the U.S. national anthem at Dodger Stadium before our official debut felt like a dream,” the group shared. “We were nervous, but YOSHIKI’s support gave us the strength to own the stage.”

For Bi-ray, this wasn’t just a performance — it was a global introduction. And judging by the crowd’s reaction, the world is more than ready.

Bi-ray is already making waves online, too. The short version of their song “Butterfly” has racked up over 15 million views on YouTube, showing off not just the group’s visuals and vocals, but also the serious momentum behind them — all before they’ve even debuted officially.

It all started when member Emi caught YOSHIKI’s attention after winning the 2023 NTV singing competition “Kasyou 歌唱王.” From there, Bi-ray was formed under YOSHIKI’s guidance, with the vision of creating a girl group that could shake up the global pop scene.

And clearly, they’re well on their way.

With their official debut just around the corner, and a major announcement expected soon, Bi-ray is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated new acts in J-pop. From singing at an MLB game to generating millions of views, they’re proving that even before stepping onto the world stage, they’re already leaving a mark.
