Born Chancelor Bennett, Chance the Rapper began to gain recognition with debut mixtape 10 Days following his ten-day suspension for possessing marijuana on his school campus. He further earned critical acclaim with successive solo releases Acid Rap and Coloring Book, and as part of hip-hop collectives SaveMoney and The Social Experiment.
Beside his music career, Chance is known for his philanthropy. He actively campaigns against gun violence in Chicago and raises money to fund the city’s public schools. Last year the 25-year-old artist donated one million dollars to Chicago’s school district.
