Chloe Qisha is back, and she’s making a statement. Malaysia’s rising pop powerhouse has just dropped her latest single, Sex, Drugs, & Existential Dread, a track that blends infectious pop melodies with a sprinkle of funk, disco, and her signature dark humor. This follows her breakout hit 21st Century Cool Girl, proving once again that she’s not afraid to push boundaries and redefine modern pop music.
What started as a casual joke between Chloe and her co-writers turned into a full-blown anthem. While brainstorming modern takes on the classic Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll by Ian Dury, they tossed around ideas like Sex, Drugs & Yoga and Sex, Drugs & Green Juice—until someone suggested Existential Dread. And just like that, a song was born.
At its core, Chloe says this track is “me through and through.” She’s happiest at home, curled up on her couch with her cats—while also drowning in existential anxiety. Because, let’s be real, what’s life without a little overthinking?
The music video keeps things raw and intimate, showing Chloe through the perspective of a mystery partner as they lounge around an apartment, capturing a vibe that’s both cozy and chaotic—much like the song itself.
Chloe is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. She made waves in 2024 with her debut EP, racking up over 7 million streams and grabbing the attention of BBC Radio 1, British Vogue, NME, and more. Now, she’s taking her music on the road.
Following sold-out performances in London and Paris, Chloe is set to headline two UK shows at The Deaf Institute in Manchester (March 4) and Omeara in London (March 6), both of which are already sold out. She’ll also be performing at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton (May 15)—so if you want to catch her live, act fast!
