Mr. Big Asia 2017

Mr. Big Defying Gravity World Tour Live in Singapore

Singapore, we’re all still addicted to that rush! Once again the legendary foursome of Eric Martin, Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan, and Pat Torpey – revered and respected music icons in their own right, and otherwise known collectively as Mr. Big – will deliver yet another momentous show in Singapore on Sunday, October 15 at Kallang Theatre.

Shining Entertainment Investment and Asia Arts & Culture announces the return of Mr. Big, bringing us again some of their timeless hits like “Just Take My Heart”, “Green-Tinted Sixties Mind”, “Addicted To That Rush”, “Nothing But Love”, “Wild World” and 1991 chart-topper “To Be With You” as well as hits-to-be off their brand new album Defying Gravity.

Taking exactly six days to make and not any longer, Defying Gravity, the band’s ninth studio album, is described by vocalist Eric Martin as a record that showcases the best of what Mr. Big has to offer. “It was great to get everybody together, [with] Kevin Elson in the studio, and all of a sudden new Mr. Big music was alive,” adds the band’s guitar prodigy Paul Gilbert.

“Somebody comes up with an idea that goes into the Mr. Big machine and kinda comes out sounding like Mr. Big even though we’re not going to try sounding like Mr. Big. We just do because it’s us, it’s in our DNA,” drummer Pat Torpey explains further to describe the creation of their new record, which features recently-released tracks “Everybody Needs A Little Trouble”, “1992”, and “Mean To Me”.

Bassist Billy Sheehan gives a nod to the band’s chemistry as he speaks about the pressure of producing the followup to 2014’s …The Stories We Could Tell in such a short period of time. “When you can create that kind of pressure in the studio in a short amount of time, it makes for better songs – and better performances,” said Sheehan.

With the promise of an even bigger, bolder and mightier offering in Defying Gravity, the hitmakers are raring to go and take on the world again in support of their new music. “The title says it all: Defying Gravity,” says Torpey. “We’re still here, and we’re still keeping the ball rolling down that hill. We’re still doing it. The album has a real positive message, and that’s what I like about it… We can still fly, even after all these years.”
