Get on Board with Groove Cruise’s Virtual Sail Aways Live Stream

Groove Cruise’s three-day livestream event will feature headlining talent such as Markus Schulz, Morgan Page, Nifra, Emma Hewitt, and more via their Twitch channel.

Groove Cruise, the floating electronic music festival that takes place on the ocean, returns with their end-of-summer, three-day livestream event titled ‘Virtual Sail Aways Live’. The virtual event, organized by independent cruise experience company Whet Travel, will begin this Friday, August 21 – Sunday, August 23, 2020, and features over 30+ electronic music artists from all over the world including Markus Schulz, Morgan Page, Nifra, Emma Hewitt, and more.

All live sets, which will be streamed via Groove Cruise’s Twitch channel, will be accompanied by live visuals to help enhance a real in-person show. Artists will be performing live from locations such as Amsterdam, Australia, London, Miami, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and more. Each day will feature up to 11 hours of live sets.

In addition to live sets, the livestream will feature their Night Swim After Hours session which has earned a reputation for going all night long, with their most recent stream lasting over 24 hours.

Viewers will be able to donate for rewards to help both artists performing as well as Whet Foundation, Whet Travel’s nonprofit that focuses on creating exciting experiences for underprivileged children in South Florida, the Caribbean, and Mexico. Donation rewards include merch, Artist Activities and backstage experiences for the upcoming Groove Cruise Miami on Jan. 7-11, 2021.

The online festival will feature Whet Travel’s WhetZoom video chat which enables up to 500 viewers to interact and dance with each other to simulate the Groove Cruise sailing experience.

Viewers can also tune in to the show via Groove Cruise’s Facebook, Youtube, Zoom and Instagram pages, however, donations will only be collected via Twitch.

Groove Cruise, founded by Jason Beukema, first began in 2004 as one of the world’s first music festivals to take place on a cruise ship. It is the only music cruise to sail from both East and West coasts and features four days of beach and pool themed parties paired with food and EDM as well as activities ranging from yoga classes to costume parties.

Like many festivals opting to do livestream events this year, their Virtual Sail Aways Live event is a response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and to provide an alternative entertainment experience that adheres to the safety regulations and procedures.

For the latest Whet Foundation updates, visit the Groove Cruise website, and follow the event on Twitch, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
