Hayden Thorpe sings from the mountaintop in MV for ‘Metafeeling’

English musician Hayden Thorpe unveils his latest single ‘Metafeeling’ from his upcoming second album, Moondust For My Diamond.

‘Metafeeling’ is the third track shared from Hayden Thorpe’s forthcoming second sophomore record, Moondust For My Diamond, following ‘The Universe Is Always Right’ and ‘Parallel Kingdom’.

Like the singles before it, the music video is directed by Percy Dean and filmed in The Lake District, presenting Thorpe performing against the mountainous backdrop.

Talking about ‘Metafeeling’, Thorpe says,

“I was feeling inspired by studies into the potential healing properties of psilocybin mushrooms in psychotherapy. I signed up to a flagship programme in the Netherlands as I wanted to explore consciousness in a safe way. The line ‘whatever was was, now what is is’ came to me and distilled much of what I had experienced during that time.”

Moondust For My Diamond follows 2019’s Diviner and Aerial Songs EP from last year. Thorpe will premiere music from his new album at two special shows this October, one in association with Aerial, at Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal and the other at London’s Chat’s Palace.

The album will, in Thorpe’s words’, explore “the meeting point between science and religion, the grand struggle for reality that shapes so much of our time”

He adds,

“What about nature? What about the cosmos? What about all these things that break through the tyranny of the self?  Our sense organs bring the world inside of us after all, I just had to sing it back out. I was enchanted again with the mystery of science and how I might speak from the heart in an age where metric is gospel.” 

Moondust For My Diamond will be available digitally, on CD, standard LP, Deluxe LP plus DomMart Edition LP.  The Deluxe LP edition will include limited and signed handmade screen prints by Hayden, whilst the DomMart edition LP bundle includes the Aerial Songs EP 12″.

The album is due for release on October 15.
