Revisiting my memories of Sunday, August 26, I was completely blown away by the sublime performance of GFriend. South Korean girl group returned to Manila for a night with energy and sweet tunes.
Undoubtedly, the concert served as a testament of the K-pop girl groupβs solidified reputation. Well, they are known as one of Koreaβs most promising young acts.

Even though, some fans could not make it to the show that night due to the show’s postponement, KIA Theatre was still packed with the fans that were so energetic and excited to see the girls. They gave GFriend a warm welcome by waving those fandom light sticks and banners high in the air.
GFriend kicked off with the high-energy track βFingertipβ. Appeared in coordinated green military outfits, the girl group started their concert tonight with songs like βNavilleraβ, βAve Mariaβ, and βCrushβ.

After electrifying the fans with their hits, the girl group returned to the stage to
temper the hype with their less upbeat and ballad pieces. The girls showcased their sweet yet powerful voices with βMermaidβ, βHear the Wind Singβ, βRain in the springtimeβ and a ballad version of βSummer Rainβ.

The concert then shifted to the membersβ individual stages. For their solo performances, main dancer ShinB performed BoAβs hit βNumber Oneβ, meanwhile, the groupβs leader Sowon went with βGashinaβ.
The groupβs main vocalist Yuju decided to belt out βHeavenβ by Ailee, while Umji and Yerin took the stage with β23β and βU Go Girlβ respectively.

GFriend are by all means one of the most popular K-pop groups in their generation. The girls rose to prominence for their synchronized moves and piercing choreography which were perfectly exhibited through their school girl trilogy. The girl group performed the trilogy with βGlass Beadβ, βMe Gustas Tuβ, and βRoughβ. The acts were the highlights of the concert.
The girl group also carried the crowd away with their recent hitsβ βTime for the Moon Nightβ and βSunny Summerβ.
Apart from the powerful vocals and dance moves, GFriend made sure to engage with the crowd and their fans through multiple talks. At one point, the girls expressed their gratitude to the fans despite the language barrier before continueing the show with βLOLβ, βClickβ, βMy Buddyβ, βRainbowβ, βOne Halfβ, βLove Whisperβ, and βHear the Wind Singβ.
For encore stage, all in sudden when βMy Buddy and βFalling Asleep Againβ started to play,Β fans quickly held up banners.

After witnessing the whole show, I literally felt and appreciated the girls’ determination, talents and sweetness. The girls did their best in delivering their fans all special moments,Β building heartfelt connections, and exhibiting the power of music to break any kind of language or distance barrier. All I could say that their show was one of my favourites and I’m sure that the whole hall would feel the same. Come back again, GFriend!
