Don’t forget: Mandalay’s premiere dance festival Electric Dream debuts this week

Why wait till the New Year’s when you can party right at the beginning of December?

And make a trip of it, too, if you haven’t got any plans this weekend – Electric Dream Festival, a newcomer fresh off Myanmar’s booming EDM scene, is premiering its hypnotic experience in Mandalay, the country’s tourism and cultural hub north of Yangon, this Friday, December 2 at Mandalar Thiri Stadium.

Electric Dream will be the first-ever EDM festival in Mandalay and in upper Myanmar region. The lineup performers recruited to build “the world of harmony, happiness, friendship, and fantasy” include Spinnin’ Records’ own Ummet Ozcan, Spanish electro house whizz Danny Avila, electro-house duo Jetfire, and Korean superstar DJ Soda.

The first edition of Electric Dream Festival is the collaborative effort between rising music and entertainment agencies in Myanmar and Thailand, Future Waves and ProPlugin.

Mandalay is the second-largest city and the last royal capital of Myanmar (Burma). Located north of Yangon on the east bank of the Irrawaddy River, Mandalay is the economic centre of Upper Burma and considered the centre of Burmese culture.
