Neon Lights just recruited this Malaysian phenomenon!

Southeast Asia’s uber hip music and festival, Neon Lights, announces Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna will be joining its already star-studded roster.

Joining headliners Sigur Rós and Foals, as well as Crystal Castles, José González and Shura, Yuna is set to perform on Sunday, November 27. The event will mark the only chance in the rest of 2016 for her fans in the region to catch the LA-based superstar, who will be performing with her four piece band.

“Yuna is the perfect addition to a festival that celebrates and showcases international acts on the same stage as homegrown Asian ones,” Neon Lights’ festival director Declan Forde said. “She’s a fascinating mix of dual identities and themes – born in Malaysia, based in Los Angeles; a singer-songwriter of light contemporary pop with some heavy R&B undertones. It’s all going to make for a very interesting set when she performs and we’re really excited to see what she brings.”

Sine her last international EP in 2013, this year Yuna triumphantly returns with her third album Chapters, a product of her collaboration with a Hollywood super team including legendary producer David Foster, Fisticuffs and DJ Premier. Her lead single, featuring Usher, “Crush” is crowned one of 2016’s best R&B records by Rolling Stone.

The World Music Awards-nominated artist has won her the love of international music critics, a spot on the Lollapalooza stage alongside Florence + the Machine and Jack White, and the mentorship of Pharrell Williams.
