Passenger cancels Manila debut show, adds Hong Kong to 2017 Asia Tour

We’re less than a month away before Passenger kicks off his Asia Tour in January 2017.

But it looks like the British indie folk singer-songwriter behind “Let Her Go”, “Heart’s On Fire” and most recently “Heart’s On Fire” will only make one Southeast Asia stop instead of two as originally announced.

The one stop in question is Singapore on January 13 at The Star Theatre while Passenger’s previously anticipated debut in Manila on January 11 at The Theatre at Solaire has been cancelled. The Brit Award-winning act will instead perform at Hong Kong’s MacPherson Stadium on that day.

AsiaLive365 have reached out to Pulp Live World regarding the quiet cancellation. The Filipino promoter has yet to comment.

Fans based in Southeast Asia can still purchase tickets for the Singapore show through all Sistic outlets. Most sections in the stall level are still available.

Beside Singapore and Hong Kong, Passenger is scheduled to perform in Seoul and Taipei on January 7 and 9 as part of his Asia Tour. The tour is in support of the singer’s eight studio album Young as the Morning, Old as the Sea, released back in September.

The 32-year-old Brighton-native began his worldwide trek in Milan on September 28 before traveling to North America, Asia and Australia, and wrapping it up in Fremantle on February 4.

Best known for 2012’s hit “Let Her Go”, Passenger, or Michael David Rosenberg, has captured the attention of the public across the world, hitting No. 1 worldwide before winning Best Folk/Sing-Songwriter Song at the Independent Music Awards and receiving a Brit Award British Single of the Year in 2014.

Here’s our favourite from Passenger’s 2014 album, Whispers.
