90’s Norwegian-British pop group A1 to reunite in Singapore and Manila

Norwegian-British pop quartet A1 are heading to Singapore and Manila to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

The band announced on Facebook the two Southeast Asian cities are the first dates of their 20th anniversary reunion tour. They will be performing at Singapore’s MES Theatre on Saturday, October 20 and Manila’s Kia Theatre on Sunday, October 21.

Singapore tickets, priced at SGD98 / 108 / 138 / 168 / 248 (VIP), are available now via APACTix. The VIP pass holder will get to have a solo photograph taken with the band and attend a post-show meet and greet.

Filipino fans can get their tickets through TicketNet and its outlets starting June 1. Prices are PHP2,250 / 3,000 / 3,250 / 3,750 / 4,250 / 4,500 (VIP).

Emerging in 1998, A1 are a combination of Norwegian legacy Christian Ingebrigtse and three British singers Ben Adams, Paul Marazzi and Mark Read. The boys garnered whirlwind success in the UK and Southeast Asia with “Be the First to Believe”, “Like A Rose” and “Take On Me”.

Marazzi left the band in 2002 before the others subsequently went their separate ways. In 2009, they reformed sans Marazzi and released two albums 2010’s Waiting for Daylight and 2012’s Rediscovered. Finally, last year, Marazzi rejoined his bandmates and together the four-piece is heading to Singapore and Manila, marking the first time A1’s original lineup will perform together since 2002.

Update (Jun 4): Tickets to the Manila show sold out immediately after going on sale on June 1. Due to this high demand, additional tickets will go on sale June 5 at 12pm via TicketNet.

More availability will be for zones VIP (PHP4,500), Loge (PHP4,250), Orchestra A (PHP3,750) and Balcony A (PHP3,250).

Update (Aug 24): Second show is added for A1 ‘Reunion Tour’ Live in Manila. Tickets are now available via Ticketnet, starting at PHP2,250 and up to PHP4,500.

The pop group confirm their second performance for their Filipino fans. The show will happen one day after the first round— Monday, October 22, at Kia Theatre. Tickets, priced at PHP2,250 (Balcony B) / 3,000 (Orchestra B) / 3,250 (Balcony A) / 3,750 (Orchestra A) / 4,250 (Lodge) / 4,500 (VIP) are going on sale through Ticketnet.

Update (Aug 28): Congratulations, Filipino fans! The boys will reunite once more for you all on Tuesday, October 23. The show will be at The SMX Convention Center, Davao. This will mark A1 third performance in the country just for their ‘Reunion Tour’. For tickets, see below.
