The English band recently released a new single ‘Lovers’ – their first new music in four years!

Lawson, consisting of Andy Brown (lead vocals), Joel Peat (guitar), Ryan Fletcher (bass) and Adam Pitts (drums) have enjoyed a phenomenal breakthrough, releasing five Top 10 singles and the Gold-certified debut album Chapman Square as well as playing shows with pop icons Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Take That.

They reunited from their hiatus in 2018 to headline a show at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, which sold-out in a matter of minutes. Still the best of friends, the reaction they received inspired them to start a new chapter in their career.

As Andy recalls fondly:

β€œI think the look on people’s faces and the fun we all had together that night made us realise how much we love and miss our fans and each other. We have all been busy with different things the past few years but it felt like now was the perfect time to get back in the studio and just enjoy making music together again.”

Known for their hits such as ‘Where My Love Goes’, ‘Standing In The Dark’ and ‘Juliet’, the lads are back with their new single ‘Lovers’ – their first new music in four years.

‘Lovers’ finds Lawson adding a fresh tropical pop twist on the infectious, feel-good style which captured a huge and devoted following. The song encapsulates the joy and excitement of a young romance, where nothing is more important than being with the person who means everything to you.

Frontman Andy Brown explains:

β€œThe song is about how you feel when you’re young and in love and there’s no better feeling in the world than that. It’s a feelgood song that our fans will love, but hopefully people who haven’t listened to our music before will love it too! It felt great to be back with the lads again and it gave us all a new energy to create what we think is our best stuff.”

The band co-wrote ‘Lovers’ with long-term collaborators Ki Fitzgerald (who they worked with on the hits ‘When She Was Mine’ and ‘Standing In The Dark’) and Jon Green (James Bay).

‘Lovers’ is accompanied by an official video which sees an impassioned performance from the band complemented by a colourful backdrop depicting a young couple embarking upon a road trip.

Four years is a long time in music, but Lawson’s absence has produced a mature, refined and exciting new sound.
