The Indonesia-born, Singapore-raised songwriter shares his inner thoughts about his struggles with insecurities with new single, ‘Confidence In Me’.
Relationships and heartbreaks are topics Rangga Jones does not shy away in his music.
The singer wears his heart on his sleeve with new intimate track ‘Confidence In Me’, which sees Jones diving into the turmoil in his mind and taking a foray into creating art that is personal, heartfelt and relatable.
The 24-year-old songwriter shares,
“I was so nervous making this song because I never thought I’d put out something so personal and that means a lot to myself. I just want to let everyone know that I go through the same struggles and I’m trying to acknowledge that it’s ok to have flaws, to be insecure at times.
I’ve always felt comfortable talking about my emotions and feelings for someone else and for relationships that are external. Writing about what was inside of me was a whole different experience so I hope people can connect to it.”
‘Confidence In Me’ is Jones’ fourth single this year, released ahead of his debut EP that is expected to drop at the end of 2021.
Since his 2019 breakout single, ‘Beautiful Mistake’, Jones is no stranger when it comes to themes of falling in love.
The multi-instrumentalist has gained over 90,000 monthly listeners with over a million streams in singles such as ‘Other Half’ and ‘Favourite Things’.
Jones is scheduled to perform at Esplanade Concert Hall alongside prolific Singapore-based artist Dru Chen.
‘Dru Chen: An Album Launch with Rangga Jones’ is taking place live and in-person on November 12, 2021 as part of the Esplanade Presents Mosaic Music Series. Tickets are on sale here.
