Released on digital storefronts and streaming services last Friday, PARTYNEXTDOOR’s third LP, PARTYMOBILE, takes us on one emotional ride.

Originally scheduled for release this past January, PARTYNEXTDOOR’s latest album “PARTYMOBILE” comes rolling onto streaming services last Friday to deliver his most emotional record yet. After delivering a pair of EPs in 2017, the Canadian singer’s third LP, produced by longtime collaborator and producer, Noah “40” Shebib, treats fans to what they expect from a PARTYNEXTDOOR record – laid-back lofi-fi hip-hop beats and bouncy tunes as the rapper croons and pours his vulnerabilities out onto 15 tracks.
PARTYMOBILE is the artist at his most unapologetic. Whether giving his best in a relationship in opening track “Nothing Less”, dealing with infidelity and trust in “The News” and “Split Decision”, or reflecting on past loves in lead single “Loyal” which features A-list rapper and fellow labelmate Drake lending guest vocals (something he had previously done and was featured in past PARTYNEXTDOOR singles such as “Recognize” and “Come and See Me”), you’d easily get lost in his emotional honesty as his deals with themes of relationships and personal growth. Another definite highlight is his collaborative R&B track with Rihanna, titled “Believe It”, in which the duo sings about dealing with staying faithful to one another. As it has been three years since the Barbadian singer had released any new material, fans of Queen Riri eagerly awaiting for any sort of new material from her will have to make do with her guest appearance here, even if it is merely providing vocals in the chorus. Despite this, fans won’t be disappointed.
Filled to the brim with atmospheric production, simple lo-fi instrumentals from start to finish, hip-hop and R&B fans looking for an introspective album to bop along and cry to on those long nights need to look no further. As the coronavirus pandemic puts us into self-quarantine mode and encourages us to practice social distancing, you can sit back and get yourself a party started with PARTYMOBILE.
