LA-based artist spill tab (aka Claire Chicha) is finally giving fans what they’ve been waiting for—her debut album ANGIE! Set to drop on May 16 via Because Music, the album promises 12 tracks packed with raw emotion, unexpected sounds, and the fearless creativity that has defined her music so far.
To mark the announcement, she unveiled the album’s title track along with a music video. A dreamy mix of organic instruments and vintage synth textures, ANGIE was co-produced by Chicha alongside John Hill (FKA Twigs, Charli XCX) and Solomonophonic (SZA, Remi Wolf, Lola Young). The song even got its first spin on BBC Radio 1 with Jack Saunders—so you know it’s something special.
spill tab describes ANGIE as her most personal project yet, reflecting on love, loss, passion, and self-discovery. “These songs feel more honest than anything I’ve created in a long time,” she says. “I’m so proud of the hundreds (thousands??) of hours spent writing, producing, tightening harmonies, reworking bass lines, and just letting this project grow with some incredible collaborators.”
And speaking of sounds—expect variety. From the glitchy, bass-heavy PINK LEMONADE to the sultry French-sung De Guerre and the euphoric guitar solos on ANGIE, the album jumps between styles without losing its signature spill tab vibe.
spill tab’s journey has been a wild one. After making waves with her debut single Decompose, she’s dropped three EPs (Oatmilk, Bonnie, and Klepto), each one showcasing new sides of her artistry. Over time, her sound has evolved from synth-heavy indie pop to more experimental, genre-blending productions—including jazz-inspired freakouts and gritty rock influences.
And if you’ve seen her live, you know she brings major energy to the stage. She’s opened for Sabrina Carpenter and Wallows, proving she can hold her own in front of massive crowds.
Her music has already earned major hype, including four ‘Hottest Record’ features on BBC Radio 1, a live session at Maida Vale, and co-signs from Lauren Laverne (BBC 6 Music) and Apple Music 1.
With ANGIE, spill tab is stepping into a new era—one that’s fully her own. And if this first single is any indication, we’re all in for something special.
