vaultboy tops global viral chart with debut single ‘everything sucks’

From a TikTok clip to catchy viral hit, vaultboy’s ‘everything sucks’ does everything but suck.

Thrust into the global limelight from obscurity, the infectious track was first teased in a 30 second clip on vaultboy’s TikTok in January, and has since been used in over 50,000 user generated videos.

The song has accumulated close to a million followers on TikTok with thousands of fan requests for the official single release, entering Spotify’s Viral Charts in 37 countries across the globe, and as well as amassing a total of 52.4 MILLION streams to date.

Shares vaultboy,

“It’s crazy to me how a song I wrote in my bedroom about looking on the bright side has connected to so many people all  over the world. We’re all so similar in that way; we’re just looking for a reason to smile and be okay.”

vaultboy wrote and produced “everything sucks” with help from fellow writer gnash. The song incorporates relatable  verses and catchy melody, which in light of the global pandemic has many fans feeling heard. The accompanying music  video was directed by Rozu Creative, and shows vaultboy at home by himself enjoying some curry and then smoothly  transitions to him at a dream-like arcade. vaultboy hopes that this track will take listeners on a nostalgic and euphoric  journey they can easily relate to and turn on when they need a quick pick-me-up.

In 2018, vaultboy started live-streaming himself singing, performing  and also gaming full-time. In late 2020, he officially debuted on TikTok as vaultboy, a name that pays homage to his love  of video games, specifically the Fallout series. He began sharing his original music and found, with his fun and relatable lyrics, he was able to deeply connect with the audience that has grown around him. Besides creating his own music, he  has written with the likes of gnash and most recently co-wrote Sarah Barrios’ single “Have We Met Before?” featuring  Eric Nam.

vaultboy has been making waves across Asia, steamrolling into the Top 5 of Viral Charts in Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines. Currently based on his streams worldwide, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore are in his Top 5.

Looking forward to the future and due to popular demand from fans and  listeners, vaultboy is working on transforming his viral TikTok and YouTube demos into full length singles to be released throughout 2021, as well as continue to write and record more music for his rapidly growing fanbase.
