Years & Years are forced to pull out from supporting Ellie Goulding’s Delirium World Tour due to frontman Olly Alexander’s illness.

The British electro-pop trio were originally scheduled to open for the “Army” singer for most of North American and Oceania dates. Much to the band and their fans’ dismay, they will not be resuming their stint as of May 16’s show in St. Louis, Missouri.

“It is with great regret and sadness that we have to cancel our remaining US shows with Ellie Goulding,” the band wrote on Twitter. “It has been no secret that Olly has been unwell recently and we have been advised that he needs immediate rest to make a swift and full recovery. We are very sorry and want to say a big thank you to Ellie and her team for having us and to everyone that came to see us xx.”

Alexander’sΒ illness already pressed Years & Years to cancel some appearances earlier this month, for which the singer took to social media to apologise, “Hello bbs. ThankU for all ur nice words and support and good health wishes – I got some weird viral illness about four days ago and I’ve not really been able to get out of bed since.”

“Thanku guys for being so understanding and to EG and her crew as well. lots of love. Olly [sic].”

From all of us at AsiaLive365, recover soon, Olly!
