The synthpop group have shared three new remixes from their acclaimed 2020 album, As Long As You Are. They have also announced dates for their upcoming Calling Out in Space Tour.
Future Islands have shared three remixes of songs taken from their As Long As You Are studio album released last year.
The remix collection opens up with legendary LA dance producer Egyptian Lover’s take on ‘Thrill (Did They Hear Me Calling)’.
He comments on the remix,
“I absolutely love the vocals from Future Islands and could not wait to put an 808 beat behind it. Now this banging song is Boomin’.”
The next one on the playlist is Moss of Aura (Future Islands keyboardist Gerrit Welmers’ solo project)’s ‘Plastic Beach’ remix, in which he describes the rework as “Mario Kart on Sega”. Closing out the package is Alle Alle’s remix for ‘The Painter’.
The Baltimore-based band have also announced tour dates for their upcoming Calling Out in Space Tour. A US tour is scheduled later this year in September and October, with UK and European dates occurring next year from February to April. Tickets are now on sale.

Released last October, Future Islands’ As Long As You Are signals a new era for the band in which drummer Mike Lowry joined the founding trio of William Cashion, Samuel T. Herring and Gerrit Welmers.
Produced by the four members themselves alongside engineer Steve Wright, the album features themes of trust, redemption and the act of letting go.
