Multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter JVKE has released the music video for his viral hit, ‘this is what falling in love feels like’.
JVKE’s music video for ‘this is what falling in love feels like’ is a surreal visual piece, seemingly taking inspiration from the likes of Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz.
The song, which became a TikTok hit, has been streamed over 21 million times and has entered viral charts across 51 countries.
JVKE shares,
“When people hear my music, I want them to be surprised, but to also feel an emotion. The most important thing is the feeling. It’s what connects everyone to a song.”
Learning instruments at a young age, including piano, guitar and drums, JVKE discovered the Logic music software on a friend’s computer. This moment cemented his decision to craft tunes in his basement with his big brother Zac.
He worked behind the scenes for artists such as K-pop stars EXO and Super Junior as well as Jason Derulo.
He comments,
“I took all of these different things I’ve learned and incorporated them into production,” he explains. “I was able to be on stage in church multiple times a week. To this day, I still use all of those instruments in pretty much every song. My brother and I practiced our skills together. It helped us to work quickly. He became the perfect partner, because we have a shared history.”
JVKE released his debut viral single, ‘Upside Down’, last year. The song became popular on TikTok before Charli D’Amelio eventually took notice and used it.
Within six months, it had incited over 15 million user-generated videos. Charlie Puth also joined in and help release the official remix.
