Concert promoters have cancelled Ducktails shows in Manila and Bangkok amid frontman Matt Mondanile’s sexual assault allegations.
The cancellations come after Mondaline’s former band Real Estate revealed the real reason behind his departure in 2016. “Matt Mondanile was fired in February 2016 when allegations of unacceptable treatment of women were brought to our attention,” their statement reads.

In light of the disclosure, Manila’s The Sleeping Boy Collective on Friday called off Ducktails’ Manila show slated for October 31. “We will not tolerate this abusive kind of behavior,” said the promoter, adding, “We refuse to enable a person who has harmed so many. We put the rights of the victims and survivors first.”
Similarly, Thai promoter HAVE YOU HEARD? announced today they would not push through with the show. “All parties involved in the Ducktails Asia tour have decided that it’d be best to cancel the tour until resolution of this issue,” the team announced on Facebook.
“[B]eing a mostly female managing team, we also do not condone misconduct or mistreatment towards women in any way, and hope that this incident will serve as a resounding message to others.”
