The Stone Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Calvin Harris are announced as headliners for T In The Park Festival 2016, a three-day mega event held from July 8-10 at Strathallan Castle in Perthshire, Scotland.
T In The Park festival is Scotland’s biggest music festival that attracts up to 255,000 visitors, including 70,000 campers every year. For its 2016 edition, the festival is definitely opening with a bang, booking Manchester 80’s rock legend The Stone Roses, who recently sold out reunion gigs, for the headline slot. Joining them on the first day are electronic duo Disclosure, Jamie xx, Courteneers and more.
DJ and Scotsman Calvin Harris is set to close the second day while Red Hot Chili Peppers is on day three’s top billing. Also playing across these two days will be Bastille, The Last Shadow Puppet, The 1975, Kaiser Chiefs, Jess Glynne, Major Lazer, LCD Soundsystem, James Bay and Jack Garratt. Founded in 1994, T In The Park festival was named after its main sponsor, a brewing company called Tennents. The festival was originally held in Stratchlyde Park, Lanarkshier from 1994 to 1996. In 1997 the organisers moved it to Balado airfield, Kinross-shire. 2015 was the first time T In The Park is held at the current venue grounds of Strathallan Castle.
