This year’s Capital FM Summertime Ball wrapped up with a bang.

Held for the eight time at London’s Wembley Arena, the iconic Summertime Ball features performances from the best of popular music who brought the stadium down with hit combos – from Ariana Grande’s “Bang Bang” to Flo Rida’s “Low” (suddenly it’s 2008 all over again), from Little Mix’s “Hair” to a cover of “Love Yourself” by Lukas Graham, and many more.

However, what’s missing from this almost-perfect celebration was Zayn Malik, who cancelled his appearance last minute due to anxiety.

The afternoon before the show, the 23-year-old “Pillowtalk” singer pulled out his gig because his anxiety had “gotten the better” of him.

The ex-One Direction member released his first solo album Mind of Mine in March this year, becoming the first ever solo album by a British male singer to debut at number one in the US.
