Two years Beyoncé headlined and very much slayed the Super Bowl halftime show. This year she might just do that again joining Coldplay on February 7, 2016 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Pepsi confirmed yesterday (Jan 8) Beyoncé is returning to the Super Bowl after being in talks for the show for some time and having to keep it all a top secret. A source tells E! “she can’t wait” to perform.
There are speculations whether or not an onstage collaboration between Beyoncé and Coldplay is going to happen. After all, they did record a song together for the British band’s seventh studio album, A Head Full Of Dreams. Not to mention how tight Queen Bey and her husband Jay Z are to frontman Chris Martin (that’s the reason she sang backup for him to begin with!).
Apart from Beyoncé, Bruno Mars was one of the many asked to perform during the half-time show again, according to Billboard. His previous halftime performance made 115 million viewers tune in, making his performance the second most viewed after Katy Perry’s, which hit 121 million viewers mark.
Now that we know who’ll be hitting the stage, there’s been a few rumours raising the possibility of Rihanna joining the list. What’s with her album Anti due for a February release and the single “Princess of China” which she recorded with Coldplay back in 2012.
That may be too much star power one stage can handle. Or it may not. We’ll just have to wait for further announcements these coming weeks before the real show on February 7.
