Bass music producer BLVD. switches gears for a house remix of Vicki Sue Robinson’s 1976 disco classic ‘Turn The Beat Around’.
The bass maestro offers a fresh, electronic rework to a classic dance party anthem featuring a deep bouncy drop.
The new single keeps the sonic elements that made the song so memorable in the first place. The song is revived into a modern dance tune.
‘Turn The Beat Around’ is disco classic staple written by Gerald and Peter Jackson, and performed by actress-singer Vicki Sue Robinson on her debut album Never Gonna Let You Go in 1976.
The original version earned a Grammy nomination for Robinson for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
The track was later covered by artists Laura Branigan and Gloria Estefan in 1990 and 1994, respectively.
The late-night, booty-shaking version follows BLVD.’s collaborations on label Purple Fly including songs with Shaquille O’Neal’s DJ Diesel alias, Fatman Scoop and Laidback Luke.
