Ed Sheeran will undergo a surgery after damaging his eardrum jumping off a yacht. And he thinks that’s kind of a good thing to celebrate the New Year’s with…?
The multi-award winner told Australia’s Nova Radio, “I have to have an operation in January on my ear because I stupidly jumped off a yacht really high up and smashed it, and I landed wrong and it burst my eardrum so I have to go and get a graft, which means I’m not allowed to fly for a while. So it’s kind of good. It means I have to stay at home.”
He also revealed he didn’t realised that he got the injury until he got into the water again. “It’s the most painful thing having a hole in your eardrum and having water go in.”
The surgery is set for January because he still has to wrap up his stadium trek in Australia this month. In the meantime he will be using extra ear protection during the show.
Ed Sheeran sure gets a kick out of letting gravity take control. In 2014, he jumped off a boat with his girlfriend on their vacation but nothing happened that would lead to a medical surgery.
