Felix Cartal and Elohim pair up for ‘Nothing Good Comes Easy’

EDM producer Felix Cartal collaborates with singer-songwriter Elohim for new single ‘Nothing Comes Easy’.

‘Nothing Comes Easy’, available across all streaming platforms via Physical Presents, follows Felix Cartal’s 2021 studio album, Expensive Sounds For Nice People, and Elohim’s featured appearance in alt-pop icon Lights’ single ‘Real Thing’.

The indie-dance track begins with a pulsating bass paired alongside a hushed vocal cut courtesy of Elohim. Her profound lyricism tells the story of two strained lovers striving to fight for the love they share with one another, perfectly brought to life through a plethora of hard-hitting bass drops.

Felix Cartal comments,

“Elohim has this incredible voice that feels beautifully intimate, it makes you feel like she’s in the room with you. Her tone was something I wanted to work with throughout the song, so I fought very hard to keep the whole thing feeling minimal. For that reason, the entire drop is built out of random vowel sounds from her voice, in an effort to keep that intimate feeling alive. I’m always trying to create production that best compliments the vocalist and keep the original emotion intact. This track is haunting and I love it.”

Elohim adds,

“I knew this top line had to go to a very special producer. When I wrote it, I belted it out from my heart. It needed production with as much heart as the lyrics and melody and Felix absolutely was the perfect match. His production elevated the entire song. While writing nothing good comes easy the lyrics poured out of me. When you write from the heart that’s when the magic is ignited”

Felix Cartal’s sound has been compared to the likes of EDM veterans such as Kygo, Calvin Harris, and the late Avicii.

He has released four full-length albums and multiple platinum-certified singles, winning the Best Dance Recording Juno Award for the single ‘Love Me’ with Lights.

A prominent singer, songwriter and producer, Elohim’s discography has featured collaborations with Louis The Child, Wiz Khalifa, and Skrillex.

In 2021, she released the first three installments of her four-part EP series, Journey to the Center of Myself. She will release volume four on March 17, a week before her performance at this year’s Ultra Music Festival.
