Collective Minds presents a soulful singer, songwriter Kelsey Lu at Kilo Lounge.

Raised in an extremely strict environment with Jehovah’s Witness parents, Kelsey Lu’s debut EP Church was recorded live in one take in a Roman Catholic church – the energy exuberating from this very act proving to be rebellious and contributing punk energy to the record.

Singer, songwriter, cellist, and producer, Kelsey Lu builds her dreamy alternative music with a mix of classical chamber and folk influences, topping off her captivating detailed arrangements with her soulful vocals.

Kelsey has collaborated with notable artists including Solange, Lady Gaga, Father John Misty, Florence + the Machine, and Blood Orange.

Kelsey’s has proven herself through her music. Her long-awaited full-length album, Blood, proves her dynamic range and reach – she dives head-first into the world of dream-pop, incorporating from the most delicate of left-field electronica and tranquil ambient sounds but still maintaining her classical roots. Perhaps this serves as a sonic reflection of her move to Los Angeles – the West Coast sound and influence on this release is gorgeous and undeniable.

The record also boasts an unexpected collaboration with the eight-time Grammy winner Skrillex on the track “Due West”, which also scored itself an official remix also done by Skrillex thereafter.
Having played all over Europe and the United States, she’s shared stages with other luminaries such as Foo Fighters, Anderson Paak, Thundercat, and Beck and has earned critically positive reviews with publications such as Pitchfork, The Guardian, Metacritic, and NME.

She’s also performed and appeared as a solo artist on the world-renowned COLORS series on YouTube.

Collective Minds is ecstatic to present Kelsey Lu to a brand new audience in such an intimate setting in the heart of Singapore!
