Hong Kong’s newest audiophile hotspot, Melody’s Music Room, has opened in Sai Ying Pun within Melody – House of Food & Music. Located in the former Potato Head Hong Kong space, the venue now features mid-century modern decor across three distinct rooms, including a Bar Lounge with a high-end DJ booth.

A Sonic Sanctuary

The hidden Music Room, reminiscent of post-war Japanese listening bars, boasts a revamped sound system. Music director Johnny Hiller has replaced the JBLs with customized Roger Quested / ATC monitors, once used in Abbey Road Studio 3, renowned for their clarity and depth. Complemented by Klipsch La Scalas and Turbosound Passive subs, the sound quality is impeccable.

Melody’s Music Room: The Enhanced Experience

Upgrades also include new lighting, soundproofing, acoustic ceilings, bass traps, and concrete slabs for turntables, minimizing mechanical vibrations. Melody’s vinyl-only music program features a mix of promoter-led events and resident DJ nights, with local talents like DJ Kulu and Roy Malig.
