Dutch Moroccan DJ R3hab has given us a modern dance version of the iconic rock anthem by legendary grunge band Nirvana with Amba Shepherd taking vocal duties.

Renowned DJ/producer R3hab has kept fans busy dancing in their rooms during quarantine with a string of multiple releases every month, however, his latest release may be his most special yet. The Dutch Moroccan beatmaker has joined forces with dance vocalist Amba Shepherd for their modern dance take of rock band Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’.

Released via his imprint CYB3RPVNK, the cover features R3hab’s catchy beats and deep basslines paired with Amba’s sultry vocals. The nostalgic track is sure to become a festival favorite once the DJ drops it during one of his live sets.

R3hab says,

“Growing up, I heard all kinds of music. Some songs stuck out to me the way they became part of my youth. That’s what exactly this song is for me. ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ has always been special for that reason. Being able to work on something made by legends like Nirvana together with Amba was a great experience, and I hope our fans and listeners will enjoy it.”

Amba also says,

“I’m so excited about this new collaboration with R3HAB! I wanted to make an unexpected electronic version of the iconic track, so I recorded my vocal as an indie chill demo. Just keys, subtle paddy synths and beats, and I sent it over to Fadil. He produced such an incredible track, and this is when this collab was born. It was amazing to work with him, and I look forward to more music together soon.”
