Travis Scott is the first of over 60 hip-hop artists announced who will perform at Rolling Loud’s first Thailand edition next year.
Thailand’s edition of Miami’s massive hip-hop festival announced Travis Scott as its first headliner today.
The rapper is the first of 66 artists to play the three-day Rolling Loud festival during Songkran next year at Pattaya’s Legend Siam amusement park.
Scott’s career, a prominent figure in the hip-hop industry, has seen him nominated for eight Grammy Awards and won a Billboard Music Award, Latin Grammy Award, MTV Video Music Award, and multiple BET Hip Hop Awards.
Last year, he was the subject of controversy over a fatal crowd crush incident at his Astroworld Festival held in his hometown of Houston, Texas. The incident lead to the deaths of 10 people in attendance, and over 300 injuries at the festival.
In video footage seen throughout social media, the rapper can be seen continuing to perform while people called for help. His actions, as well as slow response to the incident, has earned widespread criticism.
Tickets are available via ThaiTicketMajor and run THB8,500-12,000. Installment payments will be available for those who can’t the full price at once.
Thailand will be the first Asian foray for the festival billed as hip-hop’s largest in the world.
