SASAMI shares a visualizer for industrial-heavy single ‘Say It’. Her anticipated second album Squeeze will be released on February 25 via Domino.
Indie musician Sasami Ashworth comments,
“‘Say It’ is a rage anthem dance track about spinning out because someone isn’t communicating with you,. I feel like when I hear the song I see a hot femme with a mystical flamethrower engulfed in emotional blue flames throwing elbows alone in an industrial dance club in outer space.”
The end of 2021 saw the announcement of SASAMI’s second studio album Squeeze with the dual single release of ‘Skin A Rat’. Co-produced by Ty Segall, the album features numerous collaborators including Megadeth’s Dirk Verbeuren, comedian Patti Harrison, Hand Habits’ Meg Duffy, Vagabon’s Laetitia Tamko and King Tuff’s Kyle Thomas amongst others.
Squeeze sees SASAMI explore a wide spectrum of moods, from raging at systemic violence to wrestling for control in her personal relationships.
The album is described as having ‘anti-toxic positivity’, with a vision inspired by the Japanese yōkai folk spirit called Nure-onna.
SASAMI is scheduled to embark on a UK and Europe tour from April to May.
