Brighton’s Delta Sleep will play in Osaka, Tokyo, Singapore, Manila and Bangkok.
Hailing from Brighton, the members consist of Devin Yuceil, Glen Hodgson, Dave Jackson and Blake Mostyn. Just coming off from their critically acclaimed 2018 album, “Ghost Cities”, Delta Sleep will be touring this part of the world for the first time with their maiden performance in Singapore happening on 21 November 2019.
For those who were previously enthralled by the band’s richly textured sound this is a significant release on its own terms, let alone as another step towards wherever Delta Sleep might take themselves. ‘Ghost City’ is the sound of their life and subsequent cultural experiences redefining the way the band collectively compose and express themselves, resulting in their most focused and exciting work so far.
In September 2019, the band released their EP ‘Younger Years.’
Local indie bands “hauste” and “Forests” will be the opening acts for the band.
Formed in 2015, hauste is a Singaporean band that composes their own artisanal brand of instrumental music; weaving elements of math rock, alternative/indie rock and post rock into its musical narrative. Inspired by virtuosos like Chon, Foals, Toe, Snarky Puppy, The National and Elephant Gym, hauste adopts the intricacies and nuances into their soundscape and pushes the boundaries through a healthy dose of technicality and catharsis.
Local math rock band Forests, recently released the music video ‘How’s Leaving Coming Along?’. The song is from their second album, ‘Spending Eternity in a Japanese Convenience Store’, which was released early this year.
Looks like we’re in for a treat, aren’t we! Math rock and all!
