Ariana Grande reunited with Tony-winning theatre composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown at Tony Winner’s Los Angeles tribute concert on Monday (Jan 4) night.
Grande made a surprise appearance for the audience at the Tony Winner’s Los Angeles concert after Brown‘s short introductory speech: “I happened to bump into an international pop star the other day and I asked her if it would be fun to come sing a tune or two. And she said, ‘three,’ and I said, ‘three would be fine!’”
Back in 2008, before the pop star rose to fame starring in Nickelodeon’s hit show Victorious, she was cast in the supporting role of Charlotte in the Broadway musical “13”, which made Grande win a National Youth Theatre Association Award at the age of 14.
The “Focus” singer hit the stage wearing a cute and comfy oversize sweater and a big pair of glasses. Could it be that she was trying to look like she was in someone else’s clothes? It’s an obvious wardrobe choice when you’re about to perform a song from your friend’s album Wearing Someone Else’s Clothes, isn’t it?
Grande sung “Getting Out” from the album as well as two old-timey tunes from “13”, “The Lamest Place in the World” and “Brand-New You”. Watch the full video of the performance below.
