The French EDM superstar’s fundraising live stream event, which took place in Miami, will benefit COVID-19 relief efforts.

In an effort to unite people and promote social distancing during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, David Guetta hosted a fundraising live stream event in Miami. Titled ‘United At Home’, the French DJ performed a two-hour live set on the rooftop of Icon Brickell this past Saturday.

The charity event gained over 12 million views worldwide, and raised over US$700,000. Donations will go to the World Health Organization (WHO), Feeding America, Feeding South Florida, and the Fondation Hôpitaux de Paris-Hôpitaux de France (French Foundation Hospital).

Throughout the two-hour live set, Guetta played many of his popular hit singles and remixes from his vast discography. Miami residents watched and danced to Guetta’s performance from the comfort of their balconies as the stage is surrounded by their highrise apartments. Fans also joined in on the live stream through the Zoom video conferencing app, and can be seen dancing onscreen to Guetta’s set.

“I’m still buzzing from what was an incredible night shared with many,” said Guetta in a Twitter post today. “Thank you to everyone who joined and to those who were able to donate. It was magical to connect with you all through music last night.”

The COVID-19 outbreak continues to put everyone in self-isolation. In recent weeks, artists have performed online for fans to enjoy from home during this time of crisis.
