Gig news: Two Door Cinema Club’s overdue Southeast Asia visit is finally happening

Two Door Cinema Club’s long overdue Southeast Asia visit is finally happening and we can barely control ourselves.

Over two years after the Irish band cancelled their Asia tour in late 2013 due to frontman Alex Trimble’s severe case of laryngitis, fans know something good can work again as Thai promoter Prart Music Group dropped an announcement last night (Mar 22) Two Door Cinema Club would be playing Bangkok on August 17.

“Hello our social fans, get ready for some massive fun this August,” PMG shared the message on their Facebook page with the band’s “What You Know” video.

Their partner OD (Out Of Dimension) has added there would be more than one band in the lineup.

We have to wait for more details in the coming weeks, as well as a word from other promoters in the region to know if it’s going to be a one-stop visit in Thailand’s capital or a proper Southeast Asia tour. Hopefully, it’s the latter.

The band was confirmed in February to perform at Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival on August 20 and 21, joining Weezer, The 1975 and top-biller Radiohead.
