American rapper and producer Jay Z is ready to take Harry Styles under his wings, saying ” I can get him working with the bigger artists, the biggest producers and have him as the biggest artist in the world.”
The Roc Nation Founder and mentor to music’s biggest names like Rihanna, Kanye West and Rita Ora, voices his opinion on One Direction’s Harry Styles and that he can make the the 21-year-old heartthrob the world’s biggest solo artist. The challenge, says Jay Z, is “the transition from being part of a group to becoming an individual artist.”
Jay Z told Daily Star, “Harry doesn’t need any help with exposure, everybody in the world knows who he is.”
The interview follows recent reports that Styles’ solo album is set for this year’s release. The album will most likely feature the four tracks already appearing on the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) website with him listed as the only performer: “Already Home”, “Coco”, “Endlessly” and “5378 Miles”. Styles himself, however, has yet to confirm his solo career.
After performing on the X Factor UK and Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve last month, One Direction officially kicked off their hiatus which could be extended up to two years. Producers around the world are eyeing on each of the members, planning to venture on the world’s next big solo pop star.
Whatever happens later this year, with one of America’s most prominent producers expressing he’d be happy to work with him, it looks like Harry Styles will be the first of his bandmates to launch a solo career. The singer previously worked with Irish band Kodaline and Meghan Trainor to tune his artistic craft during his time off performing with One Direction.
Of course, we said that without his ex-bandmate in the picture. Zayn Malik is definitely coming out with his R&B record in the first half of 2016. He signed with RCA Records back in July.
