Multi-instrumentalist and lyricist Jordan Rakei has shared his fourth and final single, ‘Unguarded’, from his highly-anticipated studio album, What We Call Life.
Jordan comments,
“Unguarded is one of my favourite songs I’ve ever made. It just came out so naturally for me. From the creation of the music with my friends in Wales, to the lyric writing. It’s a song about meeting my wife and having someone to completely be myself with.”
What We Call Life, Rakei’s latest album scheduled for release on September 17, has been called his most vulnerable and intimate record to date.

During the writing process for the album, the singer attributes to listening to music from venerated singer-songwriters such as Laura Marling, Scott Matthews, Joni Mitchell, and John Martyn.
He says,
“Their lyrics are usually very honest, and sometimes not even ambiguous. I was jealous of how open they were, when my stuff in the past had been more like commentary.”
