The Italian gothic metal band will not be performing at the Esplanade near the end of this month.
Lacuna Coil, Italian gothic metal band from Milan inspired by the combination of gothic imagery and music, the members have been known, musically, for composing mid-tempo songs consisting of prominent guitar lines and contrasting dual female/male vocal harmonies to help create a melodic, detached sound. Much of the band’s recent material, however, sees a heavier and more down-tuned style, featuring a more distinct bass line and a higher mixing of the guitars within the song.
Due to Coronavirus outbreak and fans health and safety, the band will no longer be performing in Dubai, Bangkok, Melbourne, Syndey, Tokyo, Osaka, Singapore and Jakarta.
The band issued this statement on Monday afternoon informing fans of their cancelled shows in Asia, the Middle East, and Australia:
“ATTENTION SOUTH EAST ASIA‼️
We regret to inform our beloved fans of South East Asia that due to circumstances beyond our control we must cancel our upcoming shows in Dubai, Bangkok, Melbourne, Sydney, Tokyo, Osaka, Singapore and Jakarta. Our home region of Lombardia, Italy, is in the midst of a Coronavirus outbreak. While cancelling is heartbreaking for us, everyone’s health and safety must come first and this includes our fans. We’re confident this emergency will soon be contained and we can get back on the road to you. Thank you for your understanding and stay safe.
Ticket refunds are available for headline shows at points of purchase.”
The gig in Singapore, presented by LAMC Productions, was initially slated to play at the Esplanade Annexe Studio on 27 March 2020.
