Legendary EDM supergroup Swedish House Mafia return with a new single, ‘It Gets Better’, their first piece of new music in over nine years. The trio also announced a new album will arrive later this year.

After numerous teases and rumors, Swedish House Mafia’s long-awaited reunion is here, and they are back with brand new song.

The new track, ‘It Gets Better’, gives listeners a taste of the new sound direction the group are heading.

The single comes from their newly-announced debut album, Paradise Again, which is scheduled for release sometime later this year.

Member Sebastian Ingrosso told Billboard,

“It was just like, ‘What the f–k do we do? How do we come back? Do we just give them another [version of] what we’ve done before?’ I was like, ‘F–k that; it’s depressing to go back. It’s disgusting to go back.’”

“We have no idea if people are going to like [the new music]. But we are just really proud of what we have done.”

Additionally, the group are scheduled to perform another single, ‘Lifetime’, as guests on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show this coming Monday (July 19).

Swedish House Mafia consist of DJs Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, and Steve Angello. They have long been called “the faces of mainstream progressive house music,” and are highly influential in the world of EDM.

Prior to their comeback, they have released two albums – 2010’s Until One and 2012’s Until Now. They are best known for some of the biggest hits in electronic music including ‘Leave the World Behind’, ‘One (Your Name)’, ‘Save the World’, Greyhound, and ‘Don’t You Worry Child’.

They disbanded in 2013 after the end of their One Last Tour, before reuniting temporarily for a closing set at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival in 2018.

The initial plan was for them to reunite after that one-off show, but according to the group, “behind-the-scenes problems at that show underscored just how much of a change a true reunion would have necessitated.”

They later followed up with ‘Save the World Reunion Tour’ last year which ran from May to September.

With Swedish House Mafia back, fans are able to witness one of EDM’s massively legendary supergroups perform live once things are back to normal.
