It’s been a long time coming, but indie rock wunderkind Jake Bugg is finally coming to Southeast Asia.

BEC-Tero Live Nation announced today the 24-year-young old soul is playing an acoustic show in Bangkok on Tuesday, May 1 at Scala Theatre.ย The visit is an extension of a live tour supporting his fourth album,ย Hearts That Strain, that kicked off last November.

Tickets are THB2,600, going on sale March 17 through Thai Ticket Major. My Live Nation members’ pre-sale is from March 15-16. Register for membership here.

Unlike previous tours, Bugg opts for smaller, more intimate venues from theatres, chapels to former town markets to highlight his individual talent without a backing entourage. It’s still unknown if more dates will be announced for Asia.

A Nottingham native, Jake Buggย rose to won international acclaim with 2012’s self-titled debut album that features hits “Two Fingers”, “Lighting Bolt” and “Simple As This”. He released threeย multiplatinum-selling followups in the span of the next five years, namelyย Shang-ri La,ย On My One, andย Hearts That Strainย which was produced by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach.ย Here’s his latest single, “How Soon The Dawn”.


Update (Mar 4): Live Nation Singapore confirmed Jake Bugg will be performing in Singapore on Saturday, April 28 atย *SCAPE The Ground Theatre.
