Suga, BTS’s rapper and one of their songwriters, has entered an alternative mandatory military service September of this year. The superstar was exempt of the usual military service route as he is unfit and is instead serving as a social worker. Fans have been told not to visit the rapper on his place of service and to respect the duration of his service.
He is the third to enlist, with Jin who went in first then followed by J-Hope. All BTS members are to reconvene in 2025 and have renewed contracts waiting for everyone. As Suga wrote on Weverse, a fan community platform, he said:
“I was able to come this far thanks to you. And the time has come. I will faithfully complete my duty and come back. Be careful of the chilly autumn weather. Stay healthy and see you all in 2025!”
With this in mind, there will be no BTS material until 2025 but the remaining members have solo projects left and right, like Jungkook who will be releasing an album this month. Until then, see you in 2025, Suga!
