Thailand’s lockdown regulations have led to unfortunate cancellations of concerts and festivals throughout the year.
In an effort to help people stay connected to music, prominent Thai concert promoter HAVE YOU HEARD? have launched their online music store for fans looking to virtually go on a crate digging spree.
HAVE YOU HEARD? Records, the latest music shopping destination launched by concert promoter HAVE YOU HEARD?, offers a huge collection of new and exclusive records with an extensive selection of genres for music fans in Thailand.
No music style goes unnoticed as the store is stocked with rock, blues, jazz, indie, hip-hop, and dance music. Expect to find rare and out of print records too.
If you’re not into vinyl, a collection of CDs and cassettes as well as books and band memorabilia are also available.
While new music discoveries are easier to find more than ever due to technology, the HAVE YOU HEARD? crew are hoping to bring back the magic of discovering music on your own.
Founders Pimporn “Pang” Metchanun, and Kiratra “Ki” Promsaka Na Sakolnakorn says,
“Just like our aim with organizing concerts and festivals, we wanted to build a community based on a shared love of music, and to provide a space for people with similar interests to meet and be inspired. And that is where the idea of our record store came in,” said the two founders of HAVE YOU HEARD? . “While embracing the new technologies, we also want to keep the spirit of an old tradition of record stores where once musical discovery was a wholly human endeavour, from digging to chatting to reading to good old-fashioned hearing.”
HAVE YOU HEARD? Records, under the slogan ‘We pick and you dig!’, went live on Friday, September 3. Music nerds will be able to find some of the best independent music distributors from around the world with the likes of 4AD, Ninja Tune, XL-Recordings, Big Crown, Captured Tracks, NumeroGroup, Heavenly, Jagjaguwar, Merge, Matador, Rough Trade, Dead Oceans, Soul Jazz, Light in the Attic, Mr. Bongo just to name a few.
The online store will also feature articles on music history, weekly recommendations, and a “try before you buy” listening booth section. First 100 orders come with free shipping.
Founded in 2011, HAVE YOU HEARD? are the one of the most prominent concert promoters in Thailand, bringing over numerous renowned indie acts to the country. Past gigs include performances from Slowdive, The Vaccines, Badbadnotgood, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Oddisee, Washed Out, among others.
They are also the ones behind Maho Rasop Festival, Bangkok’s first international indie music festival.
