The Dutch DJ offers an opportunity for the trance community’s budding producers to help submit ideas for the next release of his UNITY project.
In 2018, Ferry Corsten set up his UNITY project as a way to ‘unite’ the trance community to work together on collaborating projects for a bigger cause with all proceeds donated to VH1’s Save The Music Foundation. The Dutch trance DJ’s project gained support from trance heavyweights such as Paul Oakenfold, Ilan Bluestone, and Sander van Doorn.
At a time when the coronavirus puts everyone under lockdown, and giving fledgling producers more time to hone their craft, Corsten invites fans to submit their ideas for the next release of his UNITY fan project. Proceeds from the collaboration single will be donated to the Wold Health Organisation (WHO)’s COVID-19 relief efforts. The submission deadline is June 1 at 12pm PST.
As part of the project, Corsten will provide a melody for participating producers to download via a playlist on the artist’s Soundcloud page along with full details of the project. Producers are given creative freedom with the track which means they can change the melody and submit a whole new track or add in original basslines, drum loops, vocals or FX. The only restrictions placed on the track are that it should remain in the same key at the same BPM.
To submit their creations, participants must upload and post the link in the comments on the playlist on Corsten’s Soundcloud, including #tranceunity in the upload and making sure their contact information is visible on their own Soundcloud profiles. The artist will message winning fans directly for the parts to finish the song. The final, completed version of the track will credit all contributors on release.

Giving his thoughts on the decision to open up the UNITY project to fans, Ferry said:
“With all the amazing talent that is out there, I am thrilled to be making this next Unity release a special and unforgettable experience. I’m sure we can all learn a lot from each other during the process. Never before have we felt the need to be a part of something bigger and for many of us, during this lockdown phase, weโre staying home and putting our energies into what we love โ music.ย So, opening this up and working with you on this next release is a chance to hone our creative and collaborative abilities together. To say that I’m excited about this would be an understatement.”
Submission Deadline: 1st June 2020 โ 12:00pm PST
