The Italian techno DJ takes a look back on his two decades of his dance music career in an exclusive documentary by Billboard Italia.
Luigi Madonna has teamed up with Billboard Italia for an exclusive documentary titled ‘Origin’.
The 23-minute film explores the Italian DJ’s 20-year-long music career from his beginnings within the house music scene to becoming a pioneer of techno to this day.
It includes interviews from Adam Beyer, Charlotte de Witte, Eats Everything, Joseph Capriati, Pan-Pot, and Awakenings Festival founder Rocco Veenboer.
The documentary also features footage from some of his stand-out performances including Awakenings, Sonus Festival, Dockyard Festival, Spazio 900, and Arenile Napoli.
Known for his “rebellious” approach to production and his magnetic personality, Luigi Madonna is a respective figure within the techno music scene. He has shared the decks with DJs Joseph Capriati, Pär Grindvik, Dominik Eulberg, Argy, and Ben Sims.
The minimal techno sounds pioneered by the likes of Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Chris Liebing, and Marco Carola inspired him to explore his skills as a producer.
