Kickstart this week with our picks of fresh new songs from Tuesday, April 28 – Monday, May 4 featuring Queen + Adam Lambert, HAIM, Khruangbin, Gorillaz, Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Thee Stallion, and more.
Greetings, fellow readers! To start your Monday right, we picked 16 new songs released this past week and compiled them into a playlist for your listening pleasure.
This week’s picks feature a new lockdown rendition of legendary rock band Queen’s ‘We Are The Champions’ performed by the band and sung by singer-songwriter Adam Lambert. Sister pop rockers HAIM’s new music video for ‘I Know Alone’ features the trio performing a social distancing-inspired dance routine. Folk group Milky Chance team up with Jack Johnson for their collaborative single ‘Don’t Let Me Down’.
Rapper Machine Gun Kelly unveiled his first single, ‘Bloody Valentine’, for his upcoming fifth album Tickets to My Downfall. The single features a completely new pop-punk sound direction compared to the artist’s previous work, and is produced by Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.
Rap star Megan Thee Stallion dropped a fiery remix of her single ‘Savage’ featuring the one and only Queen Beyoncé. Virtual band Gorillaz also released their new track, ‘How Far?’ in honour of the late Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen who passed away on Thursday. Allen, who is featured on the track, is considered one of the pioneers behind the Afrobeat music genre.
