British five-piece Nothing But Thieves announce today they are cancelling the Asian leg of Under My Skin Tour 2016.
The band were initially making their debut in the continent at South Korea’s Pentaport Rock Festival this Friday August 12, followed by more shows in Hong Kong (Aug 15), Taipei (Aug 16) Singapore (Aug 18) and Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival (Aug 20-21).
Interview: British quartet Lawson return with new Perspective
In a statement, the quintet revealed lead singer Conor Mason cannot recover from larynx inflammation in time to deliver the best performance:
“Conor is still recovering from the laryngitis/flu that meant we had to cancel our last few shows in the US of A. The doctor has recommended that we cancel our Asia headline dates. This means Conor can rest between festivals and hopefully make a full recovery. Really bad timing but we’re doing our best to minimise cancelling shows and get Conor back to good health. Without him we sort of turn into a budget karaoke band. We hope you understand, we’ll make it up to you soon.”
