The enigmatic producer has dropped a bombastic remix of J-pop duo YOASOBI’s opening theme to the second season of Netflix anime series ‘Beastars’.

Tokyo Machine has shared a new rework for YOASOBI’s ‘Monster’, the opening theme song to the second season of the hit Netflix anime series Beastars.

The track is released via Sony Music Japan’s ‘Sakura Chill Beats’ YouTube channel, which joins remixes of popular songs in anime by the likes of Retrovision, Slushii, Corsak, and James Landino.

The remix follows much of the original track’s upbeat sound but with propulsive rolling basslines, hefty drops, and glitchy 8-bit sound effects.

TOKYO MACHINE comments,

“Being the first artist to remix a YOASOBI record is an honor, their track ‘Monster’ was incredible to work on, these guys have a beautiful vision from both an artistic and musical standpoint and I’m grateful to give it the Toki-spin.”

TOKYO MACHINE made his debut in 2016 with the bass house tune ‘PARTY’, alongside a debut gig at EDC Las Vegas the following year. He enjoys great success with fans for his video game and anime-inspired singles such as ‘BLAST’, ‘HYPE’, and ‘BUBBLES’.

His remix for ‘Monster’ follows his Star Wars cover with Saxsquatch, ‘CANTINA’, on May 4.

And if you haven’t seen Beastars on Netflix, you probably should as it’s a unique anime taking place in a modern world filled with anthropomorphic animals with a social divide between carnivores and herbivores.
